The brand has been expanding since 2000 in South Africa, originally under 2 Master Licenses. In February 2009 a consortium of shareholders acquired Engel & Völkers and from May 2009 there was officially one Master License in the country.

From only one shop in 2003, Engel & Völkers Southern Africa has grown into a real estate company of choice with specialist divisions covering the following markets:

Franchisor background

Active within the property and real estate industry for some time, Craig Hutchison qualified as a chartered accountant on completion of his articles with Deloitte & Touche in July 1999. He joined Pangbourne Properties Limited as group financial manager in October 2000 and was appointed to the board on 29 June 2004. In September 2005, Hutchison was appointed as chief executive officer of Pangbourne Properties Limited.
